ASCO Hosted a Meeting with Delegations from Turkey and Uzbekistan Organized by the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States

On April 6, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) hosted a meeting with delegations from Turkey and Uzbekistan, organized by the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTSS).

The meeting was attended by a delegation led by ASCO Chairman Rauf Valiev, Deputy Secretary Generals of the CCTSS Mirvohid Azimov, Gismet Gozalov, Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov, representatives of customs and transport departments of Uzbekistan, head of the International Transporters’ Association of Turkey Alper Ozel.

Chairman Rauf Valiyev informed guests about the activities of the organization with a 162-year history, projects in which it participates, and plans for the future. He noted that ASCO, along with sea cargo transportation, provides shipping services in the oil and gas sector. Rauf Valiyev also spoke about the large-scale projects implemented by Azerbaijan to develop international trade and further expand transit opportunities. He noted that ASCO, in its turn, is ready to cooperate with the Turkic-speaking countries for the transportation of cargos across the Caspian Sea and to contribute to the development of this sector.

Afterwards, other participants of the meeting, including the Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Mirvohid Azimov, Gismet Gozalov, Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov, spoke and shared their views on expanding cooperation between Turkic-speaking countries, increasing transit traffic, improving information exchange.

After discussing issues of mutual interest, the guests got acquainted with the interactive corner "Victory", dedicated to the 44-day World War II, and the museum "Witness of three centuries", reflecting the history of ASCO, both created in the ASCO’s administrative building.
