SMOKING POLICY ABUSE
THE LAW OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN № 887-VQ
(Chapter 2, Article 10); OHSAS-18001 (Article. 4.2, b.c)
The World Health Organization (WHO) proclaims that active or passive smoking is health hazard.
Therefore, the Company’s objective is to provide “SMOKE–FREE” workplaces for all its employees, clients, subcontractors and visitors, in order to protect their health and promote healthy lifestyle, growth and development of children and young generation, limiting their exposure to any hazards and reducing environmental impact caused by smoking.
Smoking creates potential risk for workforce and property, can cause fire and environment impact.
In order to implement “Reduction of Use of Tabacco”, which was legislated and entitled to complied by Republic of Azerbaijan based on International Requirements, the Company Management forbits smoking in all areas besides of designated smoking.
Use of flit and/or elctronic lighters as well as electronic sigarettes are banned in public places too.
“No Smoking!” or “Smoking is strictly prohibited!” signs to be posted in all Company’s premices: office interiers, ships, and application is mandatory to all.
Designated areas for smoking to be equipped in accordance with sanitary and hygienic standards and requirements of the relevant Executive Authority.
All Company personnel shall acknowledge the policy. The policy is applicable to all employees, contractors, sub-contractors and vendors of any rank.
Employee(s) and or attendant(s) of the Company premisses breaching the requirement of this policy shall be subject to Legal Measures in accordance with the Laws and Company’s internal policy.
