The vessel “Mahmud Rahimov” embarked on its first voyage to the Port of Aktau after repairs
The universal dry cargo vessel “Mahmud Rahimov” of ASCO, a company under AZCON Holding, has undergone comprehensive repairs.
As part of the process, the vessel’s main engines were replaced with new ones, while its auxiliary engines were repaired. In addition, the vessel’s mechanisms and air compressors were adjusted. Piping, electrical, automation, and hull welding works were also carried out.
The underwater and above-water parts of the vessel were fully cleaned and painted, while crew quarters, utility rooms, and hatch covers were repaired.
During the overhaul, works were also performed in the fields of communication and electronic navigation. The vessel was equipped with a modern electronic chart system and two portable VHF radios.
Upon completion of the works at the Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard, the vessel successfully passed the required inspections and departed on its first voyage to the Port of Aktau.
It should be noted that the vessel “Mahmud Rahimov” is 117.5 meters in length, 16.5 meters in width, and has a carrying capacity of 4,100 tons.
