Freight transport figures for the first half of 2025 have been announced
Between january and june 2025, the volume of cargo transported by ASCO vessels, a company under AZCON Holding, increased by 12 percent compared to the same period last year, marking a rise from 4.1 million tons to 4.6 million tons.
During this period, tanker vessels carried 2.2 million tons of cargo. In the first half of 2024, this figure was 2 million tons, reflecting a growth of nearly 10 percent.
In the same timeframe, 19,280 trucks were transported via ASCO's ferries and Ro-Pax vessels, showing an increase of approximately 3 percent compared to the previous year. However, the transportation of rail wagons by these vessels saw a 4 percent decrease 18,227 wagons were carried in 2025 versus 19,068 in 2024.
The sharpest growth occurred in freight transported by general dry cargo vessels. In the first half of 2025, 666,000 tons of cargo were transported by this fleet, which is about 83 percent more than the 363,818 tons recorded in the same period of the previous year.
