Volunteers of the world's first tanker museum were awarded a graduation certificate

International Volunteers Day was celebrated on December 5 at the "Surakhani" ship museum owned by Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC.

According to the memorandum signed between the Surakhani ship museum and the "Young Volunteers" Public Union, 18 volunteers who successfully accomplished the three-month internship program in the ship museum were presented with a certificate of graduation during the event.

A quest-type intellectual competition was held among the volunteers to assess the knowledge obtained by those participating in the internship program.  Young people who were divided into three different teams namely  "Caucasus", "Mercury" and "Neptune" were presented with questions associated with the ship museum. The “Caucasus” team won the title of a winner of the competition and was awarded on behalf of the museum.

Participants have also demonstrated their photography skills.  Each volunteer was assigned to take a single photo of the ship museum. The winner of this contest was determined by a confidential voting of the ship-museum personnel.  Nabat Yusifli was named the most successful photo author.

At the end of the said competitions, 19 volunteers were awarded certificates who contributed to the successful organization of international events organized at the Surakhani ship-museum, including the event organized in the Surakhani ship-museum with the participation of 100 young people representing 18 countries of Europe and Asia within the framework of Erasmus+ programme.

The movement of volunteers in Azerbaijan is one of the outcomes of the youth policy founded by the national leader Heydar Aliyev and pursued by President Ilham Aliyev. It is particularly necessary to emphasize the role of the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva in the development of the voluntary movement in our country and the successes achieved in this field.

"Surakhani" ship museum owned by ASCO is also involving young people in voluntary activities in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Voluntary Activities". The Surakhani ship museum and the "Young Volunteers" Public Union signed a memorandum in this regard.  Within the framework of the memorandum, young people are closely involved in the fields of museum exposition, research and implementation of special projects.

The memorandum aims at developing cooperation in the field of volunteering, expanding voluntary activities, enhancing volunteers` experiences in the field of volunteering, and exchange experiences in the development of volunteers.

It should be noted that a group volunteer internship programme will be launched at the Surakhani ship museum upcoming days. Another 30 people will be involved in voluntary activities in the ship museum.
