Kazakhstan hosted the meeting on Trans-Caspian International Transport Route was held in Kazakhstan

The first meeting of the working group on development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and A General Meeting of the Association of Legal Entities of the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Rauf Veliyev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), participated at the two-day meeting attended by delegates of shipping, railway services, port and logistics companies from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, China.

The following issues were discussed at the meeting: the 2019 activity report of the Association of Legal Entities (ALE) of the International Association (IA) “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCITR)”; Approval of the Board members of ALE of the International Association “TCITR”; Approval of TCITR transportation volume for 2020; Selection and approval of an audit company to audit the 2019 financial and economic activities of the ALE of the International Association TCITR; Approval of ALE of the International Association TCITR Budget for 2020; Approval of the Marketing Action Plan of ALE of the International Association TCITR for 2020; Removal from the list of the associate members of ALE of international association TCITR the “Anaklia Development Consortium” LLC ; Include into the list of associate members of ALE of international association TCITR the Xi’an Continental Bridge International Logistics Co., Ltd. (China), Aktau Sea North Terminal LLP (Kazakhstan); approval of TCITR tariff terms for 2020.

The discussions highlighted the need to effectively use the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and to attract more transportations through this route. The potential of increasing efficiency of transportations and effectiveness of interconnection through this route were particularly emphasized during the discussions. Participating countries make constant efforts to further develop the corridor.

The respective protocol was signed at the end of the meeting.
