Books published on the order of ASCO were presented to the National Library

Books titled “Shipping in Azerbaijan: Pages of the history”, “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping – 160 years”, “Great leader Heydar Aliyev and national shipping policy” published on the order of “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC (ASCO) were presented to the National Library of Azerbaijan.

From September, all three publications will be exhibited in the Book Exhibition Space in the Library within a week under the title “Exhibition of new literature”.  Later they will be included in the main stock of the Library. Books at the exhibition will also appear in the electronic catalog.

The books titled “Shipping in Azerbaijan: Pages of the history” and “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping – 160 years” were written on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” CJSC, and the book titled “Great leader Heydar Aliyev and national shipping policy” – on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev’s first assumption of political power in Azerbaijan.

The book titled “Shipping in Azerbaijan: Pages of the history”, authored by Musallim Hasanov, Honored Worker of Culture, looks at the rich maritime traditions of our country and the history of “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” CJSC (ASCO). Each of the photos here is of great historical significance.

In the book “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping – 160 years”, authored by Sevda Abdullayeva, an employee of the Public Relations Department of ASCO, there are also rare photos and interesting information. Furthermore, the book is rich in information about the development of Shipping in Azerbaijan, its formation as a sphere and the various stages it passed through, as well as personalities that play an important role in the fate of Shipping.

The book “Great leader Heydar Aliyev and national shipping policy” is about the care and attention demonstrated to shipping industry by nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev from his early days when he started to rule the country until the end of his life.

In addition, the book details the actions taken to revitalize oil industry during the rule of Heydar Aliyev, promote local and national talents in shipping industry, enhance the professionalism and so on referring to concrete facts and archival documents.

The book was written on the basis of numerous documents kept in the archives of Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as books on the history of shipping, as well as memories of people who lived at that time.
