10,470 attendees took part in various training sessions organized by Training and Education Center of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy within ASCO last year

Over the past year Training and Educational Center (ETC), operating as part of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy "Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company" CJSC (ASCO), has successfully continued work to improve operational processes, form a professional team, adapt educational programs and textbooks to relevant standards, the main focus was the certification of seafarers, conducting training, practical exercises and successful certification.

In 2023, the Training and Education Center organized 890 courses attended by 10,470 individuals, including 26 foreigners. Training sessions were conducted in Azerbaijani, English, and Russian languages, depending on the country of the participant.
Audit conducted last year confirmed the introduction of four new training courses at the Training and Education Center. The Center initiated the training of instructors in areas such as "Specialist in Free-Fall Lifeboats and Rescue Rafts", " DP Refresher and Competency Assesment Course", " DP-Onboard Course" and " Offshore Familiarization Course".

It is noteworthy that ASCO's Training and Education Center, operating for 10 years, provides training, practical exercises, and certification assessment services for mariners. The center boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including modern classrooms, simulators, a pool, and maritime equipment.

The training programs offered by the Training and Education Center are accredited by the State Maritime and Port Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). The Center's commitment to excellence underscores its crucial role in enhancing maritime knowledge and skills for seafarers.
