ASCO organized a “Safety Day”

A “Safety Day” was held at CJSC “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” (ASCO).

Incidents recorded in the first quarter of 2019 in the world shipping industry and reasons thereof were the main topic of discussion.

The overview of the incidents recorded in the first quarter of the current year at Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company were provided. Presentations and exchange of views on changes in the Safety Quality Management System (TSCS), CSRM statistics in the fleets and offices, medical examination statistics, recurring shortcomings per each department, external and internal audits in the departments and fleets were made.

A video of safety guidelines was demonstrated at the event. It was also in the center of focus to discuss issues such as actions taken in the previous quarter and the upcoming targets.

Alakbar Azizli, head of the Occupational safety, Health and Environment Department delivered a report. He said that the safety issues have been under special attention in the shipping industry. He further said that there have been strict requirements for safety at ASCO and every employee must follow these requirements.

Further, detailed information on the safety trainings at the CJSC “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” and their significance was also provided. It was reported on a decrease in the number of incidents. Particular attention was paid to the investigation and analysis of the incidents to achieve positive result.

Elman Jabrayilov, a ship body repairer of the welding section at the Bibiheybat Ship Yard and Ziyafat Maharramov, painter of the cleaning and painting section were awarded for their exemplary performances.
