ASCO Hosted a Seminar on New International Standard ISO 45001
The seminar on the New International Standard ISO 45001, which applies to marine and offshore ship companies as a framework for managing occupational health and safety risks and opportunities for improvement of performance, was conducted for staff members of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC (ASCO) and its alliance partner “Caspian Marine Servises” (CMS).
Captain Titos Giannakakis lead the seminar. During the event, it was noted that the adoption of this Standard by companies enables them to provide a safer and healthier workplace environment and prevents work-related incidents by taking effective proactive measures. This Standard also assists companies to improve conformance to applicable legal and other requirements including customer expectations for the safety of the marine and offshore services provided.
The two-hour seminar was conducted in an interactive way giving the opportunity to participants to make questions and express their point view about the integration and benefits of this international standard in the company’s activities.
