ASMA Hosted a Meeting on Talent Management and Professional Training

A presentation on ASCO recruitment rules, risk management and training was organized for IV =th year studentы of the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy of the Azebaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) and Azerbaijan Marine College functioning under the ASMA.

During the presentation organized at the initiative of the ASCO Human Resources Department, students were provided with information on a number of issues: what the candidates applying for a vacancy in ASCO should pay attention to, the rules for conducting the testing and interview stages of the competition, and the principle of creating a Base of Reserve Personnel. It was noted that vacancy announcements in ASCO are placed in the Career section of the company’s official website (www.asco.az).

The Head of the Human Resource Management Department, Sevda Mammadova, noted that the employment at ASCO is carried out in accordance with the “Human Resource Management Rules” through a competition among graduates of the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy, as well as the Azerbaijan Marine College under ASMA. In addition, she noted that the Chairman of ASCO Rauf Valiyev pays considerable attention to the training of highly qualified personnel in the ASMA and the AMC.

Then, the guests participating in the event shared their experience about their career.

According to the Chief Engineer of the Marine Transport Fleet, Shahid Orujov, nowadays, all the necessary conditions are created for the training of professional sailors. Shahid Orujov also noted that in the past they had limited opportunities and advised students to use effectively the conditions created for them.

Fuad Gurbanov, the former Chief Engineer of the “Bibi Heybat” Ship repair yard, noted that ASCO and its structures provide special support to young personnel. According to him, experienced employees are always interested in sharing their knowledge and skills with young specialists.

Huseingulu Heydarov, Chief Engineer of the “Zigh” Ship Repair and Construction Yard spoke about the ways of becoming a professional specialist. He emphasized that this path requires a lot of dedication and hard work.

Elman Javadov, First Deputy Chief of the Marine Transport Fleet, shared his memories of seafaring. Speaking about career development, the First Deputy Chief of the Caspian Sea Marine Oil Fleet Maksad Farhadov said that delivering a speech in front of the teachers who taught him makes him feel excited and proud.

Young and promising ASCO experts also spoke at the event. The assistant to the master of the construction department of the “Zigh” Ship Repair Yard Rakhman Yolchulu and the master electrician of the department for Technical Supervision Elchin Abasov advised students to constantly get acquainted with the innovations and regularly work on themselves for achieving goals. These young people, who managed to achieve career growth at ASCO in a short time, noted ASCO highly appreciate the initiative and hard work.

At the end of the event, students shared their opinions and received answers to their questions regarding the presentation.
