“Mardakan” towing and supply vessel thoroughly repaired

Major overhaul of “Mardakan” towing and supply vessel, belonging to the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet of the “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC, has been accomplished.

Repairing works conducted at the “Bibiheybat” Ship Repair Yard, were carried out in a timely manner and in high quality.

During the overhaul process, the windlass unit, water-oil coolers, ten pumps, air cylinders, piping systems (together with fittings), an electrical control and protection system for waterproof doors, windows, generators of parking engines and mechanisms were repaired. In addition, the biological object was completely disassembled and replaced by a new ballast reservoir for fecal discharge with a volume of V = 87.79 m³.

In addition, in order to improve the conditions for staff, repair works were carried out on the dining room, sanitary facilities, lounges and cabins.

During the repair of the shipyard, the engine-steering complex, bottom-outboard fittings and protective installations were repaired. The replacement of the damaged areas on the hull’s draft and its surface, was carried out. In addition, new metal protective supports for the base were installed to protect the hull, and the wooden floors were replaced with metal boards for installing anchors on the main deck. After the overhaul of the building was completed, painting work was carried out.

After the repairing works, the sea trials took place, which were successfully accomplished.

It is worth mentioning that the ship is 60 meters long, 16 meters wide, and 13 knots in speed. The deadweight of “Mardakan” is 1810, and the towing force is 75 tons. The technical characteristics of the vessel make it possible to safely carry out loading and unloading operations in severe weather conditions.
